Perform issue classification and root cause analysis for software defects. Implement modifications and enhancements, ensuring GUI compatibility and adherence to coding best practices. Conduct QA / QC testing to ensure all deliverables meet or exceed the &Client;95% Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) defined in the QASP. Manage source code version control using Bitbucket and track development progress using Jira. Integrate and manage spatial and temporal datasets (GeoTIFF, HDF, shapefiles, flat files) into modeling workflows. Collaborate with Professional Engineers, QA / QC reviewers, and Contract Manager to align technical solutions with hydrologic simulation and statistical analysis requirements. Prepare and maintain technical documentation in accordance with PWS Task 6 requirements. Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. Java, Fortran, C, and C++ Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles GUI compatibility testing and development Software QA / QC processes and tools Familiarity with environmental decision support systems, hydrologic simulation, and statistical analysis methods. Experience with HEC-RPT, HEC-EFM Plotter, HEC-EFM Mapper (preferred). Tools & Platforms : Bitbucket, Jira, and GIS-related data handling. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

- The Senior Software Programmer is responsible for the development, maintenance, enhancement, and testing of the Hydrologic Engineering Center (HEC) Java Ecosystem Software Suite - including HEC-RPT, HEC-EFM Plotter, and HEC-EFM Mapper.
- This role requires strong software engineering skills, hydrologic and statistical modeling familiarity, and the ability to work closely with engineers, scientists, and QA / QC staff to deliver high-quality, mission-critical applications for the client.
